Owner Details & History

Designed according to the International Third Rule. Never built. Caledonia was simply an exercise of David Boyd requested by Uffa Fox. Boyd came from the success of the 6 Metre Circe, winner of the Seawanhaka Cup in the USA and brought back to Great Britain after three straight races. Uffa Fox asked Boyd to draft the lines and sail plan of a 12 Metre to be published on his new book: "Thoughts on Yachts and Yachting." He named the project Caledonia because Boyd was from Scotland.
