Challenge France 12 F 8

America’s Cup Heritage

Challenge France (F-8) was launched for the 1987 America's Cup campaign as part of France’s official challenger syndicate. She competed in the Louis Vuitton Cup, the challenger selection series in Fremantle, Australia.

Unfortunately, the campaign was hindered by financial issues—the Challenge France syndicate went bankrupt mid-1986, limiting the boat’s preparation and performance. Despite this, she remains a symbol of France's dedication to the 12mR class during its final America’s Cup era.

Later Years & Present Day

After the Cup, Challenge France transitioned into the world of classic yacht racing. She is now actively sailed and well maintained, frequently appearing at 12mR regattas across Europe, including:

  • Porquerolles Classic

  • Baltic Fleet events

  • 12mR Worlds and regional championships

Her sleek lines and solid build make her a favorite among spectators and sailors alike.
