Marstrand to host the 12 Metre World Championship – Vintage & Antique Division, August 18–22, 2026
Marstrand, Sweden, has been selected as host venue for the 12 Metre World Championship for the Vintage and Antique Division, taking place on August 18–22, 2026. The decision reaffirms Marstrand’s standing as one of the world’s premier arenas for classic yacht racing and highlights its deep-rooted connection to the 12 Metre Class.
Organized under the auspices of the International Twelve Metre Association (ITMA), the championship will bring together some of the most historically significant racing yachts ever built. Representing a golden era of yacht design and craftsmanship, the Vintage and Antique divisions embody the heritage, innovation, and competitive spirit that have defined the class for decades.
With Göteborgs Seglarklubb (GSK) as organizing authority, in close cooperation with Marstrands Segelsällskap (MSS), Marstrand offers a proven championship venue. Its demanding waters and strong sailing culture provide world-class racing conditions and an exceptional setting for both sailors and spectators. The event is expected to attract an international fleet and global attention, further strengthening the 12 Metre Class’s presence in Northern Europe.
