Race 6 – Patience Tested in a Shifting Breeze

Race Six got underway on schedule at 12:00, with the fleet setting off in a light 7-knot breeze from 100 degrees. The windward mark was positioned 1.5 nautical miles from the start, setting the stage for another demanding race in relatively light conditions.

The breeze briefly built to around 10 knots, but the increase was short-lived. As the wind shifted progressively to the right, the Race Committee responded by moving the windward mark to keep the course aligned with the prevailing conditions and ensure a fair race for the fleet.

The second half of the race proved particularly challenging. By the time the boats reached the second windward mark, the breeze had eased to around 6.5 knots, with similar conditions continuing down the second run. With the wind losing strength and continuing to shift, crews were once again required to remain alert, looking for every small opportunity to gain an advantage.

After 63 minutes of racing, the fleet completed Race Six, adding another closely fought contest to the championship series.
