12 Metre GP Worlds in Imperia - Day 1

Day One 29 August – Great Racing Opens the 12 Metre World Championship in Imperia

The 12 Metre World Championship got underway in Imperia today with three races sailed in excellent conditions for the historic 12 Metre fleet exactly what the 12 Metre class came to Imperia for.

The first race started in around 7 knots of breeze, building to approximately 10 knots by the finish, with the wind ranging between 210° and 225°. The 1.7 nautical mile race was completed in 54 minutes, with the fleet enjoying close and competitive racing.

With three races successfully completed, the championship is off to a strong start.
